Bellow is a small, independent design studio based in the San Francisco Bay Area, creating thoughtfully designed objects that bring together form, function, and a sense of wonder.
Our work begins with curiosity. We’re drawn to the beauty of mechanical objects, the honesty of natural materials, and the unexpected ways familiar forms can be reimagined.
Our first creation, The Bellow Lamp, takes inspiration from the expanding bellows of traditional cameras. What began as a fascination with a simple photographic mechanism evolved into a sculptural lighting object that transforms through movement.
Handcrafted from carefully selected materials, including solid hardwood, brass, and natural linen, each lamp celebrates the relationship between craftsmanship and engineering. Every detail serves a purpose, from the tactile movement of the bellows to the warmth of the light they diffuse.
We believe the objects we live with should do more than fulfill a function. They should invite interaction, reward curiosity, and bring a little unexpected beauty into everyday life.
